I started going to Bar Method at Redmond Town Center about 3 months ago to improve my flexibility for bicycling and my posture for horse riding. I had pretty modest goals since like many men I have never touched my toes as an adult and don't even remember being able to do it as a child.

After 7 workouts in 8 days, to my great surprise, I touched my toes. After 3 months, I can get my palms down to the floor. I have also improved my posture and lost 7 pounds, even though I was cycling about 800+ miles a month in September and October before the weather got bad and I switched over to The Bar Method for regular workouts. The loss in body fat has actually been more dramatic than the actual weight loss would suggest.

The studio is very new with a nice spa-like feel. It was a little strange working out with up to 20 students all women, as well as all female instructors. But folks are very friendly and the instructors do a great job of making you feel welcomed, even though you do kind of stick out as a guy. The instruction is top notch with lots of hands on adjustments to correct your form and encouragement to push harder. Each class has some variation to keep things interesting and the workouts continue to be difficult over time since you are able to stretch deeper and hold better form.

I am completely sold on the program and plan to continue with Bar Method even when the weather improves and the road biking season starts back up.
