Ok...Six days a week I am greeted by: “Good Morning Sunshine.” I enter into the spa-like environment where Luke, Bev and Maika rule. The Bar Method in Redmond Town Center is spotlessly clean and welcoming, and about an hour or so later I am waived goodbye with a smile and a: “have a nice day.” My results in the 4 month long challenge are not so much measurable in inches and pounds...because how can one measure the inner growth I have felt? I realize that I can push myself harder, go even deeper and that an inch can indeed be quite a challenge.
My diet was previously not the best, but in the last weeks I have really pushed myself and now I realize that if I am really going to see a change I have to be more consistent and have way less carbohydrates and sugar. I know I should have started earlier, but sometimes I am a bit slow. I am learning that I need to challenge myself in front of the fridge and the pantry as well as everyday at the Bar. I have never really been someone who liked to challenge myself, but Bev and Maika you keep pushing me and not allowing me to slack off....although at that moment I am not to happy...my body will thank you later on. My back has been really feeling good, and I know that my injury is something I have to live with, I am very happy that I have found a place where I can work out with little to no impact.
Externally, I know that my pants and tops fit way looser and that I went through my closet and donated all of my “flowy tops” that I wore last summer...the ones that I wore to camouflage my COSTCO size muffin top. I have become way more flexible and can nearly go into a split stretch! I have never in my 50 plus years been able to do that that is a milestone by itself. I can see how much my rear end has lifted and firmed up, and my core is way stronger. There are never a day that I miss a class on purpose...I am constantly being challenged and pushed and corrected.
I celebrate with glee the other class mates as they reach a milestone in their body transformations.I have made a new set of wonderful friends ( or as we sometimes put it...girls who love the pain). I have learned about their lives and families and celebrate news, events, and worldwide trips along with them. I have traveled in my mind to Asia, all over the USA and lately I will picture myself next to Kellie as she travels around Italy. So, as I hope to continue to complain as we do Pretzel, water ski, and chair for many years to come, I am looking forward to further change and growth.
I want to get stronger and more flexible and continue my inner challenge. So as we end every workout with with back dancing and “tuck tuck” I want to express my gratitude to you all...Thank you in Norwegian is saying “ takk, takk. ” You have all three influenced me in such a positive and life changing way, that I am grateful beyond words. You have created a sanctuary for my body and soul, where I can work out, grow, yet feel loved, safe and special all at the same time. Hugs as always.
